COMPLIANCE

Dark Pattern Compliance Certificate

Self-audit against the Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns, 2023, issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority. All thirteen listed practices were examined. None of them is used on this site. Each one is listed below with what was checked, so the verdict can be tested against the site itself rather than taken on trust.

What was examined

Every customer-facing surface on this site. The audit covered the full purchase path from the landing page to payment, including the order summary and every form control a customer interacts with.

Findings

PracticeVerdictWhat was checked
False urgency No dark pattern found No countdown timers, no "selling fast", no invented scarcity. A low-stock line appears only when the real stock count in the database is 3 or fewer, and it states that number. Truthful scarcity is permitted; it stays permitted only while the number is real.
Basket sneaking No dark pattern found Nothing is ever added to the cart that the customer did not add. No free gifts, no samples, no donations, no insurance.
Confirm shaming No dark pattern found No guilt-worded decline option anywhere. There is no email-capture modal and no exit-intent popup on the site at all.
Forced action No dark pattern found Guest checkout works. No account is required to buy, and no social follow or newsletter sign-up is demanded in exchange for anything.
Subscription trap No dark pattern found No subscriptions, no auto-renewal, no stored recurring mandate. Every order is a single purchase.
Interface interference No dark pattern found No pre-ticked box anywhere on the site. The "Save this address for faster checkout next time" box at checkout is unticked, so keeping an address for future orders happens only by a clear affirmative action, which is the standard the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 sets for consent. Nothing is hidden behind a faint or undersized control, and the decline option is never made harder to find than the accept one.
Bait and switch No dark pattern found The price, the photograph and the description on the listing are what is charged and shipped. Every necklace is priced and dispatched with its matching jhumkas, which is stated on the listing rather than discovered at checkout.
Drip pricing No dark pattern found Shipping is free across India and prices include GST, so the number on the product page is the number charged. The Cash on Delivery handling fee is the single additional charge, and it is rendered in the order summary above the total and above the Place Order button - before the order is confirmed, not after.
Disguised advertisement No dark pattern found Single-seller storefront. No sponsored placements, no paid ranking, no third-party sellers, and no editorial content that is advertising in disguise.
Nagging No dark pattern found One prompt exists: a bar asking whether you want to hear about new arrivals and offers by browser notification. It appears after three minutes of visible time on the site, it is asked once ever - dismissing it means it never returns - and it never appears over the cart, the checkout, the review form or an account page. Declining says "Not now" and nothing else; Escape closes it. There is no email-capture modal, no exit-intent popup and no interstitial before content.
Trick question No dark pattern found No double negatives and no inverted opt-outs in any form on the site.
SaaS billing Not applicable Not applicable. This is a goods retailer; no software is sold or licensed.
Rogue malware No dark pattern found No ad network and no malicious or hidden code. Three third-party scripts are loaded and all three are named in the Cookie Policy with their IDs: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Clarity. Analytics and Tag Manager load with Consent Mode storage denied by default; Clarity is not loaded at all until consent is given, because it records the session rather than counting visits and no consent signal governs a third-party recorder. The three are injected at runtime, which is why they are not in the page source, and a Content-Security-Policy restricts scripts to this origin and those named hosts.
Cookie consent No dark pattern found Not one of the thirteen listed practices; recorded here for completeness. A consent bar appears on the first visit offering "Accept all" and "Essential only". Both are one click, both are always present, and neither is worded to shame the other. Declining is remembered, so the bar does not return. Essential cookies - cart, sign-in - are not consent-gated because the site cannot function without them; everything measuring behaviour is.
